Job Description
  • The Care Skills Trainer plays a vital role in the Training and Development department by facilitating the development of care skills among healthcare professionals.
  • This role involves designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs focused on enhancing the practical skills and competencies required for delivering high-quality care to patients or clients.
  • The Care Skills Trainer collaborates with other members of the training team and works closely with frontline staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care.

Essential Duties / Role & Responsibility:  

  •  Develop and update training programs for care skills development in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify training needs through assessments, feedback, and observation of staff performance.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and simulations to teach care skills such as patient handling, personal care, infection control, and medication administration.
  • Use various instructional techniques and resources to engage participants and enhance learning outcomes.
  • Adapt training delivery methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences.
  • Create training materials, including presentations, handouts, manuals, and multimedia resources, to support training delivery and reinforce key concepts.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and up to date.
  • Conduct skills assessments and competency evaluations to measure participants’ proficiency in care skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to participants to support their skill development and improvement.
  • Coordinate training schedules, logistics, and resources to ensure efficient delivery of training programs.
  • Maintain training records and documentation, including attendance records, assessment results, and training evaluations.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement based on feedback, evaluation results, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in the development of new training initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of existing programs.

 

Experience: 

  • Previous experience in healthcare training, education, or clinical practice.
  • Strong knowledge of care skills and best practices in healthcare delivery.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and training-related software applications.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience in providing constructive feedback and coaching to support participants’ skill development and improvement.
  • Proven ability to coordinate training schedules, logistics, and resources to ensure efficient delivery of training programs.
  • Track record of maintaining accurate training records and documentation, including attendance records, assessment results, and training evaluations.
  • Experience in monitoring training effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement based on feedback, evaluation results, and industry best practices.
